December, 2015 My latest script, KFM, is now in preproduction with Doing Time Productions, and scheduled to shoot in May, 2015. October, 2014 Spent a fantastic week hiking in Southeast Utah and taking plenty of photos. Ghostmaker is now being shown on Chiller TV. September, 2014 Visitors from Sweden. Went out and explored the Fakahatchee Strand. July, 2013 I'm still alive, in case you were wondering. Most of my creative energy has been going into a crime thriller I'm writing for Doing Time Productions. November 13, 2012 The Ghostmaker, written by Scott Svatos, has been released by Lionsgate! Purchase or rent the film through iTunes, Amazon, or the Lionsgate Shop. June 24, 2012 The Ghostmaker appeared in the Taormina International Film Festival in Italy. June, 2012 The Ghostmaker has been aquired by Lionsgate Home Entertainment for domestic distribution! January, 2012 Box of Shadows, directed by Mauro Borrelli and written by Scott Svatos, has been acquired by Spotlight Pictures for International distribution. The film has been renamed The Ghostmaker. September 16, 2011 Stabbin Cabin, produced and written by Scott Svatos, appeared in the Atlanta Horror Film Festival. Augst 1, 2011 Iceland! July 22, 2011 Vigilante, written by Scott Svatos and Jeremy Fultz, appeared in the Action on Film Festival. May 15, 2011 Attended Weekend of Horrors in Los Angeles. Hello Los Angeles. October 27, 2010 Showing some of my recent film work at HUMlab House of Horror, a special Halloween movie night at Umeå University. Also presenting: experimental filmmaker Michael Mastrototaro and digital artist Carl-Erik Engqvist. November 4, 2010 Taught a class in webcomics at Umeå University. August 1, 2010 Back from my visit to Abisko National Park (Sweden) and the LKAB InfoMine in Kiruna. Still editing Stabbin Cabin... getting close to final picture (sorry for the wait, actors). Box of Shadows still in post production, but you can watch the trailer here. July 14, 2010 Back from Britain. Fantastic trip! Visited with friends, saw tons of museums, Stonehenge, Avebury, Bath, and Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. March 20, 2010 Hej! I'm in Umeå, Sweden. It's great to see my wife after almost 2 months of being 8000 miles apart. I'm continuing to work on the new script for Fotocomics Productions, seeking inspiration for Odin and Friends in the Viking homeland, and helping organize a science fiction film series at the university there. So far the people have been great and the weather has been lovely (a perfect mix of sun and snow). January 1, 2010 Back in Los Angeles full-time, helping with marketing work on Box of Shadows and writing a new horror/thriller script for Fotocomics Productions. Continuing to produce my webcomic, Odin and Friends, now at over 150 episodes! November 30, 2010 Wrote a novel in one month. Not saying it's a great novel (yet), but it's 50,000 words and it earned me a gold star from the kind folks at NaNoWriMo. November 1, 2010 Vigilante, a script I cowrote about guess what, just finished shooting in Los Angeles. October 1, 2009 Sucker, a short film I wrote and co-produced, was accepted into the Rhode Island International Horror Festival and the Vampire Film Festival in New Orleans. sucker July 27, 2009 Box of Shadows is wrapped! July 26, 2009 Finished two days of principal photography on Stabbin Cabin, a horror/comedy short starring Karl Hunter and Jessica Kinney, directed by Jeff McArthur, lensed by Douglas Miller, produced and written by Scott Svatos. July 23, 2009 Other than reports of a demonically possessed prop coffin, all reports are good from the set of Box of Shadows. June 26, 2009 Box of Shadows, a supernatural thriller I wrote with director Mauro Borrelli, starts shooting Monday, June 29. April 15, 2009 Fangoria Los Angeles starts this Friday. See you there! September 15, 2008 Arrived in Boston after a 4300 mile road trip through the northern U.S. including the Black Hills of South Dakota and Upper Peninsula Michigan (where most of my script Viking Doom takes place). I'll be living in Boston for most of the year while making periodic trips back to Los Angeles for business and fun. July 30, 2008 Blood Queens of Suburbia is now a quarterfinalist in Scriptapalooza. July 24, 2008 Attended Comicon in San Diego. Even managed to check out a comic book or two amongst the massive Hollywood studio displays hyping new and upcoming films. July 12, 2008 Spent a week in Boston with side trips to Salem (witches) and Providence (Lovecraft). July 3, 2008 Launched website and blog for actor Brad Greenquist. The site features tons of photos and video clips - check it out! June 22, 2008 Attended the Great American Pitchfest and spoke to 15 or so production companies about Blood Queens of Suburbia, Whiplash, and Viking Doom. June 21, 2008 Attended Spinning the Web at the WGA to learn how to better leverage my web development with my screenwriting. April 25, 2008 Kicked off three days of Fangoria, promoting my script Blood Queens of Suburbia. Met countless horror fans, actors, and creators and spent way too much money on obscure DVDs and other schwag. April 8, 2008 Lots of writing on both spec and contract: horror, gangster, and science fiction... almost in equal measure. February 28, 2008 Now and Nowhere, a film I worked on last winter, premiers at the Beverly Hills Film Festival, April 9-13th. February 1, 2008 I found out my dark drama Whiplash was a quarterfinalist in Zoetrope. January 11, 2008 Viking Doom finally has a website. Jan 5, 2008 Happy New Year! Filmmaker Bob Recon and I have returned from our Salton Sea New Year's trip, which also included a side journey to Anza-Borrego. Port Hueneme felt suprisingly warm after some chilly nights in the desert. We did not discover the elusive "mud pots" but we did find the "mud volcanoes" and attended several surreal parties at Slab City. And we only popped one tire! December 25, 2007 Santa treated me well this year with a nice balance of boring sock-and-sweater gifts and a exciting long-sought-after DVDs like Wassup Rockers and The Acid House. My wife and I spent Christmas Eve in Thousand Oaks before returning home and engaging in our annual Christmas Day tradition of locking the doors and watching endless movies. December 15, 2007 I just found out I'm a finalist for the Blue Cat Screenwriting Lab in Los Angeles for my script pitch "Cloud City." December 9, 2007 Filmmaker Bob Recon and I have confirmed the destination for the annual winter offroad excursion: The Salton Sea Mudpots. Recon plans to shoot footage for his latest documentary while I do my best to scald myself in hot mud. December 1, 2007 I was hired to write a new screenplay... a war-time horror script in the vein of Southern Comfort and Predator. November 19, 2007 The horror western script is finally finished. So far, everyone who has read the script is loving it and hopefully someday you will too (when it's no longer a script, but a movie).
